Mr. Do, in his first ever visit to the United States, will speak about the long-term effects of the Vietnam war and how they persist today in Vietnam and will talk about his journey to find a more peaceful world and how that is a model for everyone who honors the work of the United Nations. Despite the deaths of many members of his family during the American war, he has put his hatred aside and devoted his life to work for peace.

The MQI projects in Vietnam include:

  • My Lai Peace Park
  • schools in My Lai and how they bring hope for many children’s future, and
  • micro-loans that empower women and their families.
  • compassion houses for victims of agent orange
